Works from the series I’m Still Here are presented at Art Rio 2023 @ Galeria Lume, Stands B10 and S3. The fair takes place from 13-19.09.2023. This marks Edgar Martins’ first collaboration with Galeria Lume.

Our War, a selection of images from Edgar Martins’ new project titled “Anton’s hand is made of guilt, no muscle or bone. He has two clinically depressed fingers and an angry thumb”, has won the Juror’s Choice Award at the Hariban Prize 2023. Selected by Nestan Nijaradz, this work-in-progress project is based on a poignant and very personal story and experience: the death and disappearance of the artist’s good friend, photojournalist Anton Hammerl, during the 2011 Libyan war.

Works from the series The Accidental Theorist (20070 and When Light Casts no Shadow (2008), from the collection António Cachola are included in the exhibition Contravisões, Parte II, at the Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Elvas, Portugal. This exhibitions is curated by Sérgio Mah and runs from 26 June – 30 August 2023.

Civilization: The Way we Live now, an exhibition curated by William Ewing featuring works from the series The Poetic Impossibility to Manage the Infinite, The Time Machine and 00:00.00 is exhibited at The Saatchi Gallery, London. This exhibition will run from 01 June until 17 September 2023.
