Edgar Martins joins The Moth House at A Bigger Book Fair, Peckham 24, from 17-19.05.2024, where he will be signing copies of his new book “Anton’s Hand is Made of Guilt. No Muscle or Bone. He has a Gung-ho Finger and a Grief-stricken Thumb”.

Anton’s Hand is Made go Guilt. No Muscle or Bone. He has a Gungey-ho Finger and Grief-stricken Thumb opens at Somerset House, London on 19 April 2024. This exhibition runs until 6 May and is integrated in the Sony World Photography Awards 2024.

this exhibition presents a combination of artistic practices that are based on the construction of community spheres, revealing how artists take positions and address pressing issues of their time. Bringing together more than 30 works, the exhibition continues CACE’s strategy of disseminating its collection on a national stage and presents a wide range of recent acquisitions, including the works of Edgar Martins.

Civilization: The Way we Live now, an exhibition curated by William Ewing featuring works from the series The Poetic Impossibility to Manage the Infinite, The Time Machine and 00:00.00 is exhibited at The Saatchi Gallery, London. This exhibition will run from 01 June until 17 September 2023.

Edgar Martins Martins participates in the The Future Now Symposium, which brings together award-winning artists who engage with themes from our changing world, such as: the ethics of representation, curation, AI and new technologies, diaspora and threats posed by the climate emergency.

Works from the series I’m Still Here have been shortlisted for the 2024 Aesthetica Art Prize. The shortlisted works will be exhibited in a exhibittedn at York Art Gallery, UK from 16 February – 21 April 2024.

Edgar Martins’ forthcoming book is a research-based documentary project, a novel, a journal, a lipogramme and an imaginary anthropological study in one. It includes original photographs, archival photography and images researched from dark web forums, an album of probing soundscapes exploring the everyday experiences of a war correspondent as well as a book of drawings of myriad war scenes (collector’s edition).This book will be launched in April 2024 and is now available to pre-order.

Photo Israel is the biggest photography event in Israel and the only one in the world that provides a joint platform for social outreach activities and for fascinating works by photographers and artists from across the globe. Following recent events in Israel and Gaza, the new edition of the festival has been postponed from 8 – 27 November 2023 to 27 March – 7 April 2024. The 11th edition of the festival will feature works from Edgar Martins’ ‘Anton’s Hand is Made of Guilt. No Muscle of Bone.

Works from the series Our War, which won Edgar Martins the Sony World Photographer of the Year 2023 accolade , are exhibited at Willy Brandt Haus, Berlin (Germany) as part of the SONY World Photography Awards touring exhibition. The exhibition will run from 17 November – 28 January 2024.

Works from the series I’m Still Here are presented at Paris Photo 2023 @ Galeria Lume, Stands B10 and S3. The fair takes place from 09-12.11.2023. This marks Edgar Martins’ second collaboration with Galeria Lume.

Watching, Waiting presents a collection of essays, both photographic and written, that brings emptiness into interdisciplinary focus as an object of study that extends beyond the present. The contributors approach the specific interrelationships of photography and place through emptiness by considering historical and contemporary material in equal measure.
