Our War, a selection of images from Edgar Martins’ new project titled “Anton’s hand is made of guilt, no muscle or bone. He has two clinically depressed fingers and an angry thumb”, has won the Juror’s Choice Award at the Hariban Prize 2023. Original and previously unseen abstract collages from the series The Strange Case of Achilles & The Tortoise, available as unique edition prints, will be exhibited for the first time at Photo London 2022 @ Purdy Hicks Gallery, Stand G7. Produced during lockdown, this series is a critique of how image making has become inextricably aligned to Technocapitalist doctrine. Photo London 2022 runs from 12 – 15 May 2022. New abstract works from the series Lipograph Light Studies, will be exhibited for the first time at ARCO Art Fair 2022 @ Galeria Filomena Soares, Stand 7B02. Developed during lockdown, these works were produced by exposing light sensitive photo paper to llight waves and patterns emitted by a custom engineered laser device . ARCO Art Fair runs from 22 – 27 February 2022. A small selection of these artworks will also be available for purchase in Edgar Martins’ bookshop, after the fair.
