Children attending the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s Summer workshops respond to Edgar Martins’ exhibition at the museum, The Poetic Impossibility to Manage the Infinite, by producing sculptures based on the works on display.

Images from the series This is not a House and Reluctant Monoliths are presented at Art’Otel as part of the Grid Festival Amsterdam. The festival will take place between 7 Jun – 10 Jul 2014.

Edgar Martins discusses his latest project The Poetic Impossibility to Manage the Infinite at The University of Northampton, on 26 Apr from 11 – 1 pm.

Edgar Martins sits down  with ESA astronaut Jean-François Clervoy and Martins Barnes, senior curator of photographs at the V&A  to discuss his collaboration with ESA and the making of his project The Poetic Impossibility to Manage the Infinite. This event takes place at The Wapping Project Bankside, from  7 – 8 pm. It is free to attend but booking is essential.

Entre Imagens documentary airs today on RTP 2, Portugal. Episode 2 is dedicated to Edgar Martins. The 25m documentary will showcase and analyse some of Martins’ most prominent work, including the series This is not a House, The Time Machine and The Rehearsal of Space and The Poetic Impossibility to Manage the Infinite, a more recent body of work that resulted from a two-year collaboration with the European Space Agency. The artist is also filmed during the production of new work, thus providing an insight into his methodology.

The Poetic Impossibility to Manage the Infinite  is featured in DAMN magazine, Issue 42 and makes its front cover.
