MICROPOLÍTICAS: Works from the Portuguese State's Art Collection (Coleção de Arte Contemporânea do Estado) @ Center for Archeology and Arts, Beja (Portugal)

As part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Portugal’s revolution, this exhibition presents a combination of artistic practices that are based on the construction of community spheres, revealing how artists take positions and address pressing issues of their time. Thus, the exhibition is organized around four intersecting themes: issues of identity and gender; the relationship between the public and private spheres; the intersection between politics and work; colonialism and geopolitics.

Bringing together more than 30 works, the exhibition continues CACE’s strategy of disseminating its collection on a national stage and presents a wide range of recent acquisitions carried out by the Contemporary Art Acquisition Commission, including the works of Edgar Martins (Siloquies and Soliloquies on Death, Life and Other Interludes).

This exhibition runs from the 16.03 – 27.07.2024.
